Our Mission

(where we’re going)

We support and encourage the participation and development of women and girls in mountain biking in SA.

Gravity Girls SA is a welcoming, not-for-profit club committed to creating a safe, supportive and fun community for girls who love to mountain bike. We organise club rides, shuttle days, weekenders, events and (hopefully) an all-female multi-disciplinary race series.

We are for girls and women mountain bikers of all ages (so long as you are over ten years old) and all abilities. Our primary goal is to bring female mountain bikers together to build a strong community of like-minded bike lovers.

Gravity Girls SA reinvests all funds into its community of riders and important local projects that help us to spread the love of bikes.

Our History.

(where we’ve come from)

The Gravity Girls started in 2014 with the simple goal of getting more girls riding mountain bikes, in particular, the discipline of Downhill. Hence the name, Gravity Girls. It started as a small group of mates organising shuttle days, then trails rides. Over time, the idea grew to include all disciplines of mountain biking. It wasn’t important what your preferred discipline was, so long as we could provide a safe and welcoming environment where girls felt comfortable and supported while riding their bikes.

Support the team.

If you would like to offer your skills, time and passion to help us keep rolling forwards and building this community, we would love your help! Great things can happen when women come together.

We’re looking for like-minded individuals who believe they have something to contribute and are as passionate about women in mountain biking as we are. Good at organising events, social media, communications, numbers, or have some other amazing super-power that you think might help us? Happy to roll up your sleeves and get things done? We’d love to hear from you.
