Julia loves riding and has been a dedicated Gravity Girls for a long time. She’s super supportive and knows a ton, making her a key part of our community. Her commitment to inclusiveness really stands out, which is why she is such an awesome ride leader!

“I got into MTB from road bikes. My first MTB had 26 inch wheels, v brakes and dodgy front forks. I was terrified at first but kept at it, with Paul, (my husband) trying to teach me some skills. We are still riding together after 20 plus years.”

“I joined the GGs because I wanted to improve my riding confidence. The only way to do that, especially on downhill trails, is by riding more. The organised rides are great for this.”

“The piece of advice I would offer new members/riders would be to do some skills coaching sessions early on. Preferably with a coach. This ensures bad habits don’t get ingrained! Also, trust your bike. Modern MTBs are designed to roll over most thing, so look ahead and believe your bike will doit!”

“I really enjoy leading rides and am especially keen to help newer riders gain a bit of confidence and I really enjoy cake!”
